MatchPoint Privacy Policy
MatchPoint (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the MatchPoint mobile application (the “App”), why we collect it, and how we use, share and safeguard it.
1. What we collect
- Account data – Email address, display name, optional profile photo, and password/credential handled by Firebase Authentication.
- Player profile – Gender, city / region (approximate location), skill rating, availability schedule, and other tennis-related info you choose to provide.
- Match & chat data – Challenge requests, match results, and messages exchanged with other players.
- Analytics & diagnostics – Crash reports, performance metrics, in-app events (e.g. button taps) collected by Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics.
- Device identifiers – Firebase-generated Instance ID / App
Check tokens used solely for security, push notifications and fraud
prevention.
No advertising IDs are used.
2. How we use the data
- Authenticate you and let you log in securely.
- Pair players for singles or doubles matches based on profile, skill level, and approximate location.
- Enable in-app chat and push notifications for match updates.
- Maintain leader-boards, rating history and award points.
- Improve reliability and measure feature usage through aggregated analytics and crash reports.
- Protect the service against fraud and abuse with Firebase App Check.
3. Sharing & third-party services
We do not sell or rent your personal data. It is shared only with:
- Google Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore Database, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics) which process data on our behalf under Google’s security and privacy commitments.
- Other players inside the app (e.g. your display name, city, skill rating and messages) as required to organise matches.
- Law enforcement or regulators only when required by law.
4. Security
- All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- App Check ensures that only genuine, untampered clients access our backend.
- Role-based Firestore rules restrict access to each user’s own data.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time:
- Inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account (coming soon), or
- Email us at support@matchpointapp.com
Upon confirmation we permanently erase personal data (except information we are legally required to keep) within 30 days.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email.
